On verso: "Birthplace of the Supreme Council, 33 degree. In this building, located at the N.E. corner Broad and Church Streets, Charleston, South Carolina, the Supreme Council, 33 degree, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry for the Southern Jurisdiction of the United States (Mother Council of the World) was organized May 31, 1801."
Postcard is erroneously captioned "Church and State Streets."
The site is now the location of the Citizens and Southern Bank Building.
