A View of the Roman Forum By Faure Measuring 37-27 with Ornate Gilt Frame. Ruin of Three Columns Standing Incenter with Three Figures Beneath. Seven Colomns At Right. View is taken from the southern base of the Capitoline Hill. The three columns in the center of the foreground are the remains of the temple of Jupiter Tonans- on the left stands the arch of Septumus Severus- on the right are the seven columns of teh Temple of Concord- near to the centre of the Forum is seen an isolated column erected in the seventh century in honor of the Emperor Phocas. To the right of this are several colums, the remains of the Temple of Castor and Pollux and rising above this are the gardens now covering the ruins of the celebrated Palace of the Caesars.
"In the extreme distance is seen the arch of Titus, and to the left of this a small portion of the walls of hte Coloseum. The avenue of trees on the left of the picture marks the course of the Via Sacra." "Cost $60".
