Environmental Management Improvements Study for the Aiken-Rhett House, Charleston, SC: Final ReportEntry/Object ID
2016.002.007Description
A direct outcome of the 2013 Feasibility Study, this report addresses ways that HCF can better understand and mitigate the direct effects of the Charleston climate on the condition of the collection and historic finishes of the Aiken-Rhett House, while maintaining the interpretive goal of presenting the house as it was lived in, with natural ventilation and without air conditioning. This report also provides the methods by which HCF can monitor changes in environmental conditions, building fabric, and collections so that HCF can make informed stewardship decisions.
