Weld Family -
Hastings Weld was a prominent author and newspaper editor. He authored Corrected Proofs and edited the newspapers Brother Jonathan and the Evening Tattler. He also corresponded with Edgar Allen Poe, sent him a letter asking for his autograph and complaining about HHW's criticism of his work in Brother Jonathan. Hasting Weld was also the great uncle of the famous American painter, John French Sloan, who was also a high school classmate of Albert Barnes and William Glackens (1909-1978).Created By
