Notes
Donated by descendant of Arthur Middleton and Alicia Russell Middleton. Descended through the Middleton family.
Hope Middleton Wood received the chair from her mother's Patience Hurd Middleton's estate (7/14/1905-10/10/1983)
Her father, Arthur Middleton (8/23/1897-8/31/1969)
His father, William Dehon Middleton (11/6/1862-11/30/1942) after Julia Porcher Blake Middleton (11/7/1867-1/18/1953) passed away
His father, Arthur Middleton of Daisy Bank (1832-1910)...(first born of Nathaniel Russell Middleton from his first wife, Julia Emma Rhett 1835-1908)
His father Nathanial Russell Middleton (1810-1890) * I have come to believe that the things that our families have are the things that stayed in Charleston at the Pitt & Calhoun Street residence, jointly owned by Nathaniel R. Middleton and his sister-in-law, Mrs. Alice Izard Heyward, she took care of the 3 boys after Julia's death at 25, (1836). He married Anna DeWolfe in 1842 and moved with the 3 boys back to Stono. He sold Stono in 1852 and moved into their 22 South Battery home.
His father, Arthur Middleton of Bolton on Stono, (1785-1837), Alicia Russell's husband, son of Thomas Middleton (1753-1797), brother of "Arthur the signer"Created By
