Description

A black cast iron coffee mill with No. 1 stamped on it. Made by the Enterprise Mfg. Co. Patent date listed as "Pat. Oct. 21, 73". Can be free standing or bolted to the counter. Manufacturer: Enterprise Mfg. Co. of Philadelphia, U.S.A. Circa 1873 due to patent date The Enterprise Manufacturing Company of Philadelphia, PA was founded in 1866. John Gullick Baker joined the company in 1869. His 1870 and 1873 patents were the foundation of Enterprise's prolific coffee grinder business for the next half century. The Enterprise No 0 table mills: early model with the flower decals was first introduced in the mid-1880's. The later model had a slightly different shape and new style decals.
