Motto SamplerDescription
Victorian era motto sampler that reads "Simply to thy I Cling". The text is embroidered in shades of red, with a cross with vines on it is in the middle in yellow and greens. The sampler is much smaller than what is usually seen in these samplers, and is oriented vertically instead of horizontally.
Perforated paper needlework was popular from 1860-1900. The paper came stamped with the design so someone could just follow the template.
