LanternDescription
Three oil lanterns (A-C), likely for a wagon. Lantern A is missing. The lanterns are all identical, save for some differences in condition. The bases are circular and dome-shaped, supporting a large, rectangular frame with arms on either side. There is a burner attached to the base, which has a knob and a metal ring with a hole in the center. Object B has a dome-shaped emitter inside the hole, whereas object C has a pear-shaped glass chimney resting over the hole. Both burners have a circular, glass reflector on the front to amplify the light output. The arms of the frame support the top of the lantern, which is cylindrical and has a flat, circular top. The top has an inscription and a small wire handle. A large looped metal handle is attached at the top of the frame. The back of the lantern has a large, box-shaped plate. There is a red glass reflector in the middle of the plate. The plate attaches to the base and to the left arm on the side, where there are two coiled metal wires that connect together. The front of the bases have unintelligble descriptions and small circular caps.Inscription/Signature/Marks
