Lantern

Description

A metal Dietz lantern (A) and extra blue, glass chimney (B). A: The lantern has a circular base that tapers inward slightly before meeting the clear glass chimney. Below the chiney is a hole, which is missing its cap, for lantern fuel. There is also a circular knob attached to the base. The glass chimney is cylindrical and is secured at the top and bottom by the frame of the lantern. There is a circular burner with a wedge-shaped hole in the center inside the chimney. The chimney is secured on the sides by wires that cross in an "X" pattern. There are two bulky arms on either side of the frame that connect to the base and to the top. The top is cylindrical and has a vented cap with a small, round metal handle. There is a larger metal handle in the shape of a loop that attaches to the arms on the side. B: Blue glass lantern chimney. The chimney is cylindrical, with two protrustions that rest on opposite sides of eachother. There are several inscriptions on the face of the glass. The chimney has two openings, one at the top and one at the bottom. The top has a short lip that allows the chimney to secure to a lantern.
