Coldwater River Bridge Plaque

Description

Metal plaque that used to be on the bridge over the Coldwater River on M-43 north of Hastings. It was removed (with 2024.8.1) during the rebuilding of the bridge. The plaque has a greenish patina, with a large brownish square near the bottom L. It has the seal of Michigan in the middle at the top, and the words: Michigan State Highway Department Charles M. Ziegler, State Highway Commissioner MB1 of 8-4-3 Built by State Highway Department L.W. Lamb Co., Contractor 1956 302-08012 is stamped in the top L corner. It has a border with the text and seal inset, with the inset having a textured look. The back has 4 raised circles, one in each corner. This plaque appears to be in better shape than 2024.8.1.
