Toy BoatDescription
Mystery Boat made by Gobar Products in Anderson, IN in the 1920s. Made of tin, the boat is red and yellow with a passenger in the boat wearing a yellow suit. The boat is 9" in length. It was a scientific/educational toy that used a small amount of fuel to propel it.
"Marcus Bagley" "Orangeville" written on the bottom of the boat in pencil by Irving D. Charlton. Appears his name was spelled Marcius, but Marcus can be found on a variety of documents including his headstone. Marcius Robert Bagley was born on June 7, 1884 and lived in Orangeville surrounded by family members. He and his wife E. Pearl [Ordway] married in Kalamazoo, MI in 1917. She listed her occupation as nurse, and he a farmer. He registered for the draft in 1918 and 1942, he was a white man, approximately 5'9" tall, weighed 130 lbs, with brown hair and blue eyes. Marcius died in 1959 and is buried in the Prairieville Cemetery with his wife.Relationships
