COLUMBUS, OHIO Founded in 1885, the Arcade Manufacturing Co. soon became the major producer of coffee grinders for the Freeport, IL area and across the entire country for the next 50 years. Several important inventions by the Morgan Brothers in the late 1800s enabled the company to introduce a variety of attractive canister wall mills. These included their Telephone Mills, which could be fastened to a wall or shelf. Several different versions were made from the 1890s to the 1920s. The Golden Rule Coffee Mills made for the Citizens Wholesale Co. (Columbus, OH) by Arcade Mfg. Co (Freeport, IL).
