Description

Black cast iron coffee grinder with a clamp on the bottom for attaching to a kitchen counter. It is 14" tall with a wooden knob on the handle. "2148" is imprinted on the front of gear box and inside of handle. There are four (4) gold colored decals on hopper. Back of gear box has the text, "ENTERPRISE MFG CO. No.O PHILA. U.S.A." Manufacturer: Enterprise Mfg. Co. of Philadelphia, U.S.A. Circa late 1800's The Enterprise Manufacturing Company of Philadelphia, PA was founded in 1866. John Gullick Baker joined the company in 1869. His 1870 and 1873 patents were the foundation of Enterprise's prolific coffee grinder business for the next half century. The Enterprise No 0 table mills: early model with the flower decals was first introduced in the mid-1880's. The later model had a slightly different shape and new style decals.
