Name/Title

Mortar and Pestle

Description

Cast iron mortar and pestle. The mortar is cup shaped with signs of wear. The pestle is tear drop shaped and pitted. Green felt was attached to the base at some point to keep it from scratching surfaces it was set on. A mortar and pestle were the first coffee grinders, but mills were available by the 1500s. If it's not broke, don't fix it!
