Motto SamplerDescription
Victorian era motto sampler with the word "Welcome" embroidered in shades of red. There is a banner scroll behind it, and pink and blue flowers with green stems and leaves. There is something sparkly behind(?).
There is a tag attached that says "James J Mead, Supervisor," and there is text written on the wood on the back in pencil. "James J Mead Supervisor 1937 to 1951
Feb 2 1882 Longston Mich To Barry 1883 Maple Grove to Hastings 1888".
Perforated paper needlework was popular from 1860-1900. The paper came stamped with the design so someone could just follow the template.
