The chest has a bowed front, chamfered corners with carved and applied grape clusters, and four drawers with simple round knobs. The skirt is a scalloped design with carved "C" and leaf scroll designs and bracket feet. The mirror is arched in an easel frame with a Renaissance carved pediment, scroll work, and two circular platforms for candles.

Context

This dresser was a family piece, purchased in 1966 along with the matching birth bed from a Woodrow Wilson descendant. Since its arrival at Historic Columbia, the set has been on display in the Woodrow Wilson Family Home (now the Museum of the Reconstruction Era).
