Mahogany stereoscope with metal components and glass lenses. The top of the eye piece features a makers mark that depicts a buck and the name "Monarch." The handle folds to make device more compact.

Use

A stereoscope is a device used to view a stereoscopic pair of images that create a three-dimensional image. The stereoscope has a handle to hold the object, two lenses, and a holder for the image. Handheld stereoscopes became popular in American households in the 1860s.
