Context

From 1952 to 1992, Columbia's Cottontown neighborhood housed a Coca-Cola Bottling Company plant at 2830 North Main Street. This facility was one of several across South Carolina, alongside locations in Greenville, Aiken, Dillon, and Rock Hill. Coca-Cola bottle carriers like this one were manufactured during the 1950s and resembled the style and function of carriers used by milkmen, making it easier for distributors and business owners to transport multiple bottles at a time.
