One of a series of documents related to Benjamin Shaw's land in Germantown. This is a deed in the form of a letter, stating "Whereas an agreement was made on the first day of April One thousand eight hundred and eighteen between Benjamin Shaw of the City of Philadelphia of the one part and George Murray of the same place engraver of the other part, whereby the said Benjamin Shaw agreed to convey and the said George Murray to receive the conveyance of a certain messuage or tenement plantation and two tracts of land lying on both sides of Bickus's Lane in Germantown township in the county of Philadelphia..." etc. Signed and countersigned as late as 1822.Collection
