Notes

This paper was with both 1993.688 & .689, I don't know to which it refers. This clothes brush was found by Miss Maggie Rollette on the Battlefield of Fredricksburg Va, on Sunday December 14th, 1860, the day after the battle. It was taken from the knapsack of a Union Soldier and has been in constant use by the family until about 3 years ago when it was brought to Germantown by W.W. Wiesman. The lady afterward married a Confederate Soldier named john George and is now residing in Washington, D.C.. Object recieved between 1910 and 1919.
