Four military buttons made of white metal, with traces of "52" embossed on surface. Buttons were found in the basement of the old Mount Airy Post Office during work being performed there, in association of a fully-articulated burial. The discovery was made in 1985; an exhibit the following year highlighted the discovery. It is not clear as to how the GHS acquired the buttons. Upon research, it was found that the buttons and burial were associated with John Waites, a British infantryman who fought in the Battle of Germantown.Made/Created
