Items found on page 68b of scrapbook 2, "Pictorial Germantown Road and the Vicinity & Some of its Inhabitants. Compiled by George Clarence Johnson. Volume I. East Side." Item a, at the top, is an account of 5423-27 Germantown Avenue, the Masonic Hall, formerly the site of Pine Place or the Rookery, the home of Rev. Rooker and of the Bronson Alcott family. Item b, center, is a photograph of John Fredrick Axe's Store and adjacent buildings on Church Lane. A caption says the store was moved from the southeast corner of Church Lane and Germantown Avenue, was used by William Knoght as a barber shop, and demolished in 1899. Item c, bottom, is a photograph of Church Lane looking west after the blizzard of 1899, showing the Deschler-Morris House in the distance.
