Label: In 1927 the Germantown Historical Society moved from Vernon to headquarters at 5214 Germantown Avenue, the Hacker House. The house, built about 1765, was described as "rich in historical associations of Germantown and typical of prerevolutionary days." In seeking its own permanent headquarters, the Society planned to have a Museum and Library "where our many relics and books can be properly housed." (31)Dimensions
