Scope and Content
Deed for the transfer of the Green Tree Tavern property from John D. Wells and Ann S. Wells to George W. Carpenter on August 19, 1850. The deed is witnessed by Moses Hager and William Ogle. It was recorded on September 6, 1850 By Georw W. Colladay in Philadelphia Deed Book G. W. C. 58, p. 397. Included with the deed is a typescript sheet with the heading "Copied from Deed Book of George W. Carpenter, Deceased." It seems to be Carpenter's understanding of the history of the property
