Label: In 1966, the Germantown Historical Society received the Clarkson Watson House for its costume collection. (32) Its name is derived from two prominent residents. Matthew Clarkson was mayor of Philadelphia in the 1790s; John Fanning Watson was a judge and author of the Annals of Philadelphia.
