Description

Glass plate negative of the old bridge/ tunnel at Fisher's Lane. The perspective is from the east [towards present-day Belfield Avenue] facing west/ up hill towards Stenton Avenue. The stairs to the outbound platform are visible to the right. A date for the replacement of the bridge would be helpful in determining the age of the image. Notice the wood planking on the roof of the tunnel at right, to protect pedestrians from objects falling from tunnel ceiling.
