Description

Clippings and memorabilia from World War I scrapbook compiled by Dr. Naaman H. Keyser, page 102. A single undated newspaper clipping from an unknown newspaper is glued to page 102, with the headline: "Letter From Geo. Peberdy." The article notes that "George H. Peberdy, of 5350 Magnolia avenue, enlisted in the 103rd Ammunition Train in July, 1917. He trained at Camp Hancock and went overseas May 18, 1918. Peberdy was shell shocked at the battle of Chateau-Thierry and sent to Base Hospital No. 7, at Tours, France, where he remained five weeks, after which he was sent to a casual company and then transferred to the American P. O., 784, where he is now." The article includes the letter George wrote to his father, for father's day. A small article follows, alerting the public that Meyer Pressman, Jr., of 150 East Haines Street, was wounded in action." The articles are accompanied by a photograph of George H. Peberdy. Pages are 7.5 x 10".
