A photograph found between pages 162 and 163 of scrapbook 2, "Pictorial Germantown Road and the Vicinity & Some of its Inhabitants. Compiled by George Clarence Johnson. Volume I. East Side."
The photograph is of a large house behind a fence with two men standing in the foreground. The photograph is labeled "Chief Justice Allen's House - Allen Lane Ctr." One caption repeats this identification and places it at 7300 Germantown Avenue. Another caption says this identification is mistaken and identifies the hous as Magnolia Villa, home of James and Francis Gowen, later the Recitation Hall of the Lutheran Theological Seminary.
