No trolley wires are visible over Germantown Avenue; these were visible at that time, suggesting the photograph was taken before their erection. The view was therefore likely taken after the Blizzard of 1888. The exact location is not clear, but is most likely taken from Germantown Avenue at around Armat Street or Maplewood Avenue/ Mall, facing south towards School House Lane.
