Provenance

Notes

Worn by Annabella B. Wood at her first Assembly Ball, Dec. 1920. Miss Annabella B. Wood lived with her parents, Horatio Curtis Wood and Annabella C. Wistar Wood, at 164 School House Lane. (Source: 1922 Philadelphia Social Register, page 295) "The Wood family tree...has included altogether fourteen respected men of medicine since the eighteenth century. The handing on of the name Horatio Curtis Wood has reached a sort of impasse in various branches; there now being a Dr. Horatio C. Wood Jr. (Pennsylvania '97), a Dr. Horatio C. Wood IV (Haverford '50) and a Mr. Curtis Wood (Yale '54)." (Source: The Perennial Philadelphians: The Anatomy of an American Aristocracy, page 109, By Nathaniel Burt)
