This volume begins with Chapter 24 in 1776 and ends with Chapter 52 in 1774, as the Second Epoch of the American Revolution (How Great Britian Estranged America, 1763-74) . It then returns to Chapter 1 in 1774 and concludes with Chapter 40 in 1775, as the Third Epoch of the American Revolution (America Declares Itself Independent, 1774-1776).
A bookplate found Inside the Front Cover indicates this volume was on loan to the Site and Relic Society of Germantown (now known as The Germantown Historical Society) from The Workingmen's Club of Germantown) in 1910.
