Series of eight black and white photographs of what was to become Howell Park, taken in November 1961. The photographs were taken as part of a court case in which the Germantown Historical Society unsuccessfully fought off an attempt, apparently by the City of Philadelphia, to install a baseball field in the park. Contents of the photographs include the ACME parking lot, the United States Post Office [under construction] on Greene Street, and the Wirts radio company at 5225 Greene Street. The Gilbert Stuart studio is also visible in some of the photographs. Four different views are included here; each view has two identical photographs representing it.Dimensions
