Photographs from Photo Scrapbook 1, Part 2, Page 114
Photograph: Please see notes for captioning and other information. This photograph shows an interior view of the kitchen of the former King of Prussia Inn located at 5516-18-20 Germantown Avenue. The photograph shows a portion of a room at the King of Prussia Inn in a different time frame than that shown in photograph 113a. This photograph shows a large fireplace with a stucco facade and a wooden ledge/shelf. On the top of the ledge/shelf are various plates, tea/coffee pots, candle sticks and a powder horn. Suspended above these items is a long rifle (hanging upside down). At the bottom of the shelf/ledge are hanging various cooking utensils. A set of old andirons are positioned in the center of the actual fireplace. Positioned above the burning logs is a large iron pot suspended from a swinging "hook". Positioned on either side of the fireplace are various tools. A ladderback rocking chair rests on the brick hearth in front of the fireplace (to the left). On the hearth in front of the rocker is a fur-skin rug. To the left of the fireplace is a wooden door. Another smaller door is visible to the right of the fireplace. The walls and ceiling of this room appear to be stucco covered and whitewashed. This room presents more of a "colonial" time frame than does the photograph in 2013.5.1.113a.
