Photographs from Photo Scrapbook 1, Part 2, Page 141
Photograph: Please see notes for captioning and other information. This photograph shows an interior view of St. Paul's Episcopal Church located at 22 East Chestnut Hill Avenue. The photograph shows a Gothic style interior with arched windows and doors. The walls appear to be of a smooth plaster coat - white at the bottom and darker above (to include the ceiling). Ornate carved wooden butresses provide a decorative feature to the ceiling. A center aisle and two side aisles have been formed by the installation of the pews. An ornate stained glass window is installed above the main altar. A large pipe organ can be seen to the left of the altar immediately outside the sanctuary. Many flowers, plants ans shrubs are arranged throughout the sanctuary (and in the side window openings) in preparation for a major liturgical service. The flower banks below the pipe organ almost surely obscure a raised pulpit. There also appears to be an open altar rail within the sanctuary proper.
