Urban Village Exhibit Ex286 and Ex286a (Many Faces Exhibit)
Label: Janes Methodist Episcopal Church was organized in 1872 as a mission of Zoar M. E. Church, the " pioneer church of African Methodism." It occupied this modest structure till 1898. Replaced by a more imposing edifice, which in turn was outgrown by 1926, this plain frame building represents the humble beginnings.
