Kirk & Nice men producing furniture
Label: Kirk and Nice was originally established as a cabinet-making business by Jacob Knorr in 1761. In addition to furniture they also made coffins. Eventually the company developed into an undertaking business. There are currently two offices, one in Feasterville and the other in Plynouth Meeting.
This circa 1865 photograph shows the interior workshop of Kirk and Nice when the company made both furniture and coffins. Notice the man holding the child's coffin in the front of the picture and the mirrors hanging from pegs near the ceiling at the back of the photo.
