Letter contained in envelope included in this accession. Letter is written in pen on 7.75 x 9.75' lined paper, torn in half from larger sheet, and folded into four unequal parts.
The letter includes the header "Estimated Loss to C. S. Orphans by neglect of State Authorities, written in cursive, and itemizes the losses the CSO claims to have suffered by neglect of [Pennsylvania] state authorities. These losses, as listed, included allowances for orphans, time for preparing the School, and costs of the "maintenance" of each child, for a total of $129,000. N.D. but perhaps circa 1875.
