Letter from Chas. Stewart to Captain Thomas Robinson, dated March 23, 1841, regarding Robinson's effort to obtain "one of the minor offices of the Custom House in this City." Expresses reluctance as an officer to "interfere in the civil appointments" but praises Robinson's service in the Navy, especially "during our quassi war with France and the war with Tripoli."
