Photographs from Photo Scrapbook 1, Part 1, Page 56
Photograph a is a photograph of Loudon, located at 4650 Germantown Avenue. The photograph shows a three story Federal-style structure situated on a slight rise. In the foreground is a "paved" drive running beside and in front of the house. Stone steps lead up onto the three step porch on which four two-story columns support a large, corniced overhang with a triangular pediment. The main entrance has a formal "surround" supported by two columns. Above the front door is a semi-circular glass transom. The windows on the first floor have paneled shutters; the second story windows have louvered shutters. Vines cover most of the first and second stories in the front and side. An enclosed porch is seen on the left. Two brick chimneys protrude above the roof line and several dormer windows are built into the roof. The dormer windows have an arched pediment and the tops of the windows are rounded.Photograph Details
