Black and white print labeled. "S. E. Cor. Wayne & Chelten looking eastward. Large bldg is Woolworth's (under construction). " This appears to be incorrect. The work appears to be demolition rather than construction. The Saxonia Shoe Store, visible left of center, was located at 5557 Germantown Avenue. This suggests that the photograph is of a view looking east along Maplewood Avenue toward the intersection of Germantown Avenue and Armat Street and that the demolition may be preparatory work for the construction of West Armat Street and Maplewood Pedestrian Mall.
