Photographs from Photo Scrapbook 25, page 38
Please see notes for additional information.
Page 38 contains two photographs with captions.
Photograph a [top] shows a group of men standing on a grassy area (which in this photograph has become a baseball field). All men are in shirt sleeves and wearing caps. There are two men in the foreground (the closest man has his back to the camera and the other closest is facing the first man). In the background are a number of men positioned on the field. In the distance is a tree line and a house positioned on higher ground which slopes down to the lawn area. The caption reads: Lieutenant Blackburn rested after putting some hot ones over the plate.
Photograph b [bottom] shows three men in the foreground - two are resting on the ground (supported by opposite elbows) and one is walking toward the two men. In the background (somewhat obscured by the tree on the left) are men positioned on the ball field. On the right (in the distance) are a grouping of men who appear to be watching the game. The caption reads: Strover saved his reputation and "white ducks" by getting off the field.Photograph Details
