Please see notes for additional information.
Page 60 contains two photographs with captions.
Photograph a [top] shows an enclosed truck with lettering identifying it as: Chas. V. Scully. 5317 Germantown Avenue. There is a small oval window on the side immediately behind the cab (where the driver and a passenger would sit). Standing by the side door is a man (with his foot resting on the sideboard) wearing a cap, white shirt with tie and dress trousers. Next to him is a young woman dressed in a white shirt with tie, a dark skirt and dark hose. The truck is sitting in a grassy area with a tree line in the background. The caption reads: The "eats" arrived about this time.
Photograph b [bottom] shows a large gathering of men grouped in something of a semi-circle. Some are wearing suit jackets, while others are in shirtsleeves. Most are wearing hats and/or caps. In the distance is a tree line. The caption reads: So did the hungry crowd, and they lined up from all sides, to line their insides.Photograph Details
