Description

Photographs from Photo Scrapbook 25, page 80 Please see notes for additional information. Page 80 contains three small photographs with captions. Photograph a [top] shows two men sitting on the ground with a building in the background. The man on the left is wearing a white shirt and tie and a straw "boater" hat. The man on the right is wearing a suit (to include the suit jacket) and a different type of hat. Both are facing straight ahead but sitting at an angle away from the camera. Consequently, they show a partial profile. The caption reads: General caption: A few snaps taken during the afternoon. Top Caption: A. J. Ingram and Clarence Vanderslice rest for amoment. Photograph b [center] shows a group of men gathered around a large tree (the base of the trunk is visible). All are facing away from the camera and looking into the distance. In the background is an expanse of open field and tree lines. It is likely that the men are peering at some activity occurring on the field out of camera range (perhaps a baseball game?). The caption reads: Carver tells how and why he missed the train for Paoli. Photograph c [bottom] shows a large open field with a tree line and building bordering the field in the distance. Visible are two men in white standing in the distance at the edge of the field. Visible beside the man on the right are two figures sitting on the ground. The caption reads: A view of the corner of the ball field.
