Photographs from Photo Scrapbook 25, page 78
Please see notes for additional information.
Page 78 contains two photographs with captions.
Photograph a [top] shows a man wearing a bathingsuit with his back to the camera walking away from the camera into the distance. In the left background is what appears to be a bridge over a small body of water. Tree lines are seen in the far distance. The caption reads: But like the breath of Spring stealing over the landscape is seen, not "Diana of the Bath", but our own Will Emhardt, robed for a plunge.
Photograph b [bottom] shows the same man as in photograph a (catalogue number 2013.31.1.78a) dressed in a bathing suit and standing knee deep in a pond with his arms outstretched. The caption reads: And as the day closes, - the sun's last rays fall on our President as he is about to "take water", - an unusual occurrence.Photograph Details
