Photographs from Photo Scrapbook 7, page 24
Please see notes for additional information.
Page 24 shows a photograph on the grounds at Manheim (Germantown Cricket Club). The photograph shows a woman standing in a garden area at Manheim. She is wearing a full length dress with short sleeves. The skirt portion of the dress is affixed with ruffled layers of fabric. She is also wearing a short shawl and a rather long necklace. Her hat is adorned with flowers, and a very broad brim which dips in places. She is wearting short gloves and carrying a purse in her left hand.
Behind her is an ivy covered brick wall. Beyond the wall are the grounds of Manheim.
Please see Germantown Crier, Volume 62, Number 1, Spring 2012, Figure 15, page 25. This photograph seems to bear a high degree of similarity to Figure 15 and could well be a photograph of Lydia Jane Newhall Clark, who "was in charge of the whole proceedings and headed a collection of committees of local ladies" (page 24).Photograph Details
