Please see notes for additional information.
Page 35 shows a photograph on the grounds at Manheim (Germantown Cricket Club). The photograph shows three women in period costume standing in a garden area at Manheim. The woman on the left is wearing a full length "simple" dress (a polka-dot fabric) gathered under the bosom with a "rounded" collar and wearing a medallion on a chain around her neck. Her hair is swept up in a "bun", and she appears to be wearing elbow-length gloves. The woman in the middle is wearing a plain full length dress with full sleeves. She is wearing a black apron and back fabric which forms a "V" from the neck to the waist. She is wearing a plain white bonnet on her head. The woman on the right is the most formally dressed with a full length dress of embroidered fabric. She is wearing a cameo around her neck fastened with a dark fabric "chocker".
They are standing among garden beds on a path located on the grounds of Manheim. Surrounding them are various flower beds, a portion of a large trellis, a garden wall (in the background) and various mature trees/vegetation.Photograph Details
