Please see notes for additional information.
Page 45 shows a photograph on the grounds at Manheim (Germantown Cricket Club). The photograph shows a grouping of people dressed in period costume in front of a tent. The sign on the top of the tent announces the Children's Ward of Germantown Hospital. Starting at the extreme left, a man sitting in a wheelchair is visible; moving rightward,a man stands behind a bench upon which rest boxes (presumably) filled with medical supplies. To the right of the bench stands a man in a white suit (presumably attired as a physician); to his right is a grouping of six individuals (three children and three adult women). The children are dressed in what would be typical patient attire, while two of the women are attired in nursing garb and the third woman is dressed in black. To their right are a grouping of four people (three children and one woman in white nursing attire. In the right foreground is an empty wheelchair. Beyond the open tent flaps, chairs and beds are visible.
This "display" is set in open ground with a building visible in the background, somewhat obscured by mature trees and vegetation.Photograph Details
