Page 46 shows a photograph on the grounds at Manheim (Germantown Cricket Club). The photograph shows a man and woman dressed in period costume in the garden area at Manheim. The woman is dressed in a full length formal dress with pointed layers attached to the skirt of the dress. The sleeves are elbow length and she is carrying a shawl which drapes over her shoulders and the train of which is gathered mostly in her right arm. She is wearing a bonnet with long fabric straps which drap each shoulder and cascade down each side of the front of her dress. The man is dressed in a formal frock coat with a floral vest and a hand-tied black bow tie. His pants are tapered from the knees to the ankles and button at the ankles. His shoes sport large buckes and in his hands he holds a clay pipe.
The couple stand on a garden path with an arbor, trellis and a two story building behind them. Some trees and vegetation are also visible throughout the garden.Photograph Details
