Page 51 shows a photograph on the grounds at Manheim (Germantown Cricket Club). The photograph shows two women dressed in period costume standing in the garden area at Manheim. Both women are wearing full length dresses. The woman on the left is wearing a dress with layers affixed to the skirt of the dress. She is wearing a bonnet with long dark straps that hang down the front of the dress. She is also wearing dark ribbon bows affixed to both wrists. One shoe is visible and has a cross strap. A sprig of flowers is affixed to end of her leftt hanging strap. The woman on the right also is wearing a skirt with a layer that is cut to produce a "V" affect. She also is wearing a bonnet upon which is affixed a lace veil which falls down her left shoulder. An elaborate bow is affixed to the dress bodice and a floral arrangement is pinned to her dress. The dress sleeves are short and she is carrying a purse.
They are standing in front of a rounded arch trellis. In the background are outlines of other buildings, another trellis and trees, flowers and vegetation. +Photograph Details
