Description

Photographs from Photo Scrapbook 1, Part 2, Page 82 The photograph shows a front view (as well as a side view) of the Parsonage of Trinity Lutheran Church at 5300 Germantown Avenue (at the northwest corner of Germantown Avenue and Queen Lane. The structure fronts on Germantown Avenue (as evidenced by a sign indicating Germantown Avenue affixed to the left, front side of the building above the first floor window line) and is a two story stucco-covered structure with two dormer windows built in to the metal, seamed roof line. As seen in the left (on Queen Lane) the building extends beyond the front portion as a two story structure with a flat roof. An additional one-story "shed" is seen at the very end of the structure. Beyond this "shed" extends a metal "hair-pin" fence. Two automobiles are parked on Queen Lane underneath several shade trees. The front entrance has a wooden "surround" and is accessed by two stone steps capped with a metal railing. These steps are built parallel to Germantown Avenue and can be utilized on either the left or righ hand sides. To the right of the structure is a stone wall surmounted by a concrete fence connected to a tall stone column with a concrete capstone, upon which rests a globe. Beyond this fence in the photograph is visible a portion of a mutil-story brick building separated from the Parsonage by open space. Towering over the roof line of the Parsonage is the tall spire of Trinity Lutheran Church.
